Commercial furniture survey continues strong to open 2019

HOLLAND, Mich. – The commercial furniture industry finished 2018 on a strong note and continues that way into 2019, according to the January 2019 quarterly MADA/OFI Trends Survey. The January 2019 survey index of 59.31 is boosted by strong improvements in nine out of ten individual index values and brings it closer to the highest recorded index of 59.72 in July 2005. The lowest was 41.45 in April 2009 during the bottom of the recession.

Cabinet sales up 2% in 2018; December also shows rise

RESTON, Va. - 2018 cabinet sales totaled $7.3 billion, a growth of 2% compared to 2017 figures, according to the latest business trend survey by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association. Sales of stock cabinetry grew 4.8% and custom sales also increased 4.5%, while semi-custom sales decreased 1.8%, according to participants in KCMA's monthly Trend of Business survey.
