Citing tariffs, Canadian furniture maker closing and moving to Utah

Soon, the company may need to change its website. Roughly 130 temporary, part-time and full-time employees may lose their jobs as Holsag Canada parent company MITY Inc. aims to move operations to Utah.

MasterBrand submits supplemental merger disclosures amid shareholder litigation

In August 2025, MasterBrand Inc. and American Woodmark Corp. announced they had entered into a definitive agreement whereby MasterBrand will combine with American Woodmark via an all-stock merger valued at $3.6 billion. The company's recently amended their merger statement after the companies received several "demand letters" alleging, among other things, that the Joint Proxy Statement/Prospectus filed in connection with the merger "omitted certain purportedly material information which rendered such document incomplete and misleading," according to the statement.
