MCLEAN, VA -- Rowe Furnishings announced it will close its upholstery and framing plants in Popular Bluff, MO. According to the Sikeston Democrat Standard, the operations will be consolidated into the company?s Elliston and Salem, VA, facilities as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization plan. The closing will affect the jobs of about 400 workers, but more workers are expected to be hired in Elliston. Rowe also announced that it plans to sell its Storehouse retail chain and focus on manufacturing. Read more.
