OFS Brands Furniture Considers $9M ExpansionHIGH POINT, NC – Wood contract furniture manufacturer OFS Brands is considering a $9.25 expansion of its North Carolina operations that would bring 188 full time jobs to the High Point area over five years, according to the High Point Economic Development Corp.

Headquartered in Huntingburg, IN, OFS Brands is the parent firm for OFS, First Office, Carolina, Loewenstein and Styline Logistics. In business for over 75 years, the company’s operations include seven manufacturing plants and four support plants, according to its website. Products manufactured include casegoods, seating and tables.

OFS Brands’ operations in the Piedmont Triad area include two buildings in southern High Point and two buildings in Archdale. Approximately 200 employees work at the manufacturing, distribution/warehouse and customer service facilities, according to information from the EDC.

High Point is competing with an unnamed, out-of-state location for the expansion, the Oct. 19 EDC statement said.

At a hearing to be held Oct. 29, the agency said the High Point City Council will consider authorizing up to $220,000 for the project. The Guilford County Board of Commissioners will hold a hearing Nov. 15 to consider authorizing up to $188,000. The State of North Carolina also is considering participating in the project, according to the EDC.
