Former WMDA & Memphis Machinery president Bill Cowan dies

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. - William "Bill" Cowan, 89, retired president of Memphis Machinery & Supply Co. and Rees Memphis Inc., has passed away. Cowan was the father of four children, including Andy and Tim Cowan.
 
Cowan was very involved in the WMDA (Woodworking Machinery Distributors Association) and WMIA in the early days - serving as president of WMDA. At WIC 2018, Cowan was among the introductory group of inductees into the WMIA Hall of Honor, in recognition of his service to WMDA.
 
WMIA offers its sincerest condolences to Cowan’s family on their loss, and are very grateful for his involvement and passion on behalf of the industry and the association. The full obituary can be read here.
 
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 24 at 2:00 pm at Agape Chapel on the St. George's Independent School campus, 1880 Wolf River Boulevard, Collierville.
 
The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church,105 Walnut St., Collierville, TN 38017; St. George's Independent School, 1880 Wolf River Boulevard, Collierville, TN 38017 or the charity of one's choice.
