PANGUITCH, Utah — An early morning fire engulfed and destroyed sawmill operations at K & D Products on Aug. 21.

According to Fox 13 News, dozens of firefighters battled the blaze. While it did not spread to lumber inventories, the fire’s intense heat heavily damaged the facility’s production equipment.

The sawmill, which employs about 20 people, is reportedly the second biggest industrial employer in the town of 1,500. The mill has been owned by multiple generations of the Fransden family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
