BEVERLY, W.Va. - Flooring giant Armstrong broke ground on a new 85,000-square-foot distribution facility in Beverly, West Virginia.

The new facility will expand on the company's current 750,000-square-foot facility in Beverly - the largest pre-finished hardwood flooring plant in North America.

County officials told West Virginia's MetroNews that the expansion could create up to 50 new jobs over the next 10 years. More than 600 employees currently work at the plant.

Local lumber firms will benefit from the expansion, say county officials. At least three local sawmills would reportedly be out of business if it weren't for Armstrong.

The new facility should be complete by August 2019

“They have excellent medical benefits up there so with well over 600 employees and continuing to grow with all private health insurance helps our local health system,” he said.

Armstrong Flooring is a global leader in the design and manufacture of flooring solutions. Headquartered in Lancaster, Pa., Armstrong operates 15 manufacturing facilities in three countries and employs approximately 3,600 individuals.
