Ostermann, the edgings specialist is launching a third zero bondline edging solution following on from its Laser and Airtec edging ranges. The new Infratec edging can be applied with edge banding machines featuring Near Infrared Radiation (NIR) technology.
As with the laser and hot air technology, edgings can only be processed using Near Infrared Radiation (NIR) technology (e.g.in LTronic units of Holz-Her) with a special functional layer. With the Infratec edging Ostermann offers a solution for the use of Infrared technology.
Near Infrared Radiation (NIR) technology
The Near Infrared Radiation (NIR) technology enables heat energy to be delivered precisely to the active layer of the edging, before it is pressed onto the board. A major advantage of this technology is the noiseless processing and immediate readiness of the machine for operation. So no warm-up time during processing is necessary. In addition, no energy is consumed in the gaps between each panel and there is no cleaning required.
Ostermann Infratec edging
Ostermann has quickly dealt with the new processing technology and obtained information from the equipment manufacturers to offer an integrated edging solution. The active layer of Ostermannās Infratec edging has a synthetic polyolefin base and is applied millimetre-exact in a subsequent coating process. It is available in 5 colours (white, natural/beige, brown, black or transparent) selected to match the colour and pattern of the edging.
All colours, all decors
With the transparent functional layer Ostermann offers its customers a very special service. This variant has been specially designed for the precoating of the extreme coloured edgings, such as intense blue, green, red or yellow. Ostermann delivers the new Infratec edging with functional layer for all ABS uni and decor edgings and Real wood edgings in width of 16 to 60 mm from one roll and despatched within 4 working days.
Always a topic: Energy Efficiency
Compared to the modern hot air technology, the energy consumption of the Infrared technology, due to the immediate operational readiness is generally lower. In addition, functional layer of the Infratec edging requires less energy to be processed than, say, a coextruded laser edge, which can also be used for the NIR technology. With the new Ostermann solution manufacturers can thus use a wider edge but have with equal energy consumption (compared to the coextruded edging). Numerous practical tests have also shown that with the Infratec edging the maximum feed speed can be processed.
Perfect companion to the laser and Airtec edging
With the laser, the Airtec and the Infratec edging, Ostermann has consciously decided to develop its own solution for every edge processing technology. This has the advantage that for each of the 3 "invisible bondlines" the development of the respective technologies can be optimized and adjusted according to the requirements of customers. In order to reliably deliver the best Ostermann service in this innovative field and to be able to despatch edgings with laser, Airtec and Infratec functional layer after 4 days in the future, Ostermann has also invested in new machinery.
Ostermann experts provide on site advice
In addition to the already established hot air technology, the new Infrared technology offers the best conditions for the use in the trade. As a special service to buyers and prospective buyers of new Infrared machines, the Ostermann experts are ready to answer any questions and offer advice. Ostermann offers not only the visit of an experienced application engineer but also a starter set for Infratec edgings with free edging samples and also information, sample panels and a corresponding voucher for your first purchase of Infratec edging. (Similar to Airtec Starter Set)
