Canada's Alexandria Moulding acquired by U.S. Lumber

ALEXANDRIA, Ont. and ATLANTA ‐ One of Canada's leading producers of mouldings and millwork, Alexandria Moulding is being acquired by U.S. Lumber, a large distributor of specialty building products.

Financial terms of the agreement, announced Aug. 15, were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed by early October, subject to customary closing conditions.

Alexandria Moulding is a top North American producer of moulding and millwork.

Founded in 1943 and headquartered in Alexandria, Ontario, Alexandria Moulding, is a leading manufacturer and two‐step distributor of mouldings and accessories across all of Canada and the northern United States, and is ranked #48 in the latest FDMC 300 list of top North American wood products manufacturers. The Atlanta, Georgia-based U.S. Lumber is a leading two‐step distributor of specialty building products in the eastern and midwestern United States. According to the two firms, the combination will create a company with a broader geographic presence as well as enhanced product and service capabilities.

U.S. Lumber has a wide distribution network in the eastern and midwestern United States.

Alexandria Moulding (Moulure Alexandria) will continue to be led by its existing management team from its current headquarters in Alexandria, Ontario. Cholette will join the U.S. Lumber board of directors.

Founded in 1998, U.S. Lumber was formed by the merger of Atlantic Trading Co. and Bestwood Forest Products and has since grown organically and through strategic acquisitions. The company serves more than 7,000 pro‐dealer and retail customers in 33 U.S. states.
