"The world has become a smaller place, with Houzz and Pinterest," says Lary Skow, CEO of cabinetry component manufacturer Northern Contours. "The most significant trend that we've seen in our business has really been the move to what they call 'full access,' or frameless cabinetry. It's much more European in styling and a number of American cabinet fabricators have tried to move in that direction, albeit slower than what they'd like."
Says Skow, "It really allows a lot more European influence from the design standpoint and what we're finding is consumers are very interested in that. As a result of that consumers are kind of clamoring to get the look that they want and manufacturers need to step up to the plate to be able to do that."
