DUBUQUE, IA – Flexsteel Industries Inc. has secured patents for products in its Home Furnishings and Contract furniture groups.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued patents to Flexsteel (NASDAQ: FLXS)  for the DualFlex Spring System (9,103,397), adjustable telescoping arm (9,107,507), and self-adjusting armrest assembly (9,108,549). Earlier this year the furniture manufacturer also received a patent for its SpringFlex Back (9,060,610) feature that allows occupants to rock back and forth or use a lever to lock the back in an upright, stationary position.

The company said the adjustable telescoping arm, featured on select treatment recliners in Flexsteel Healthcare, allows for easier patient transfer from a chair or bed. This feature brings added focus to patient comfort and caregiver ease, two principals at the foundation of the company’s Healthcare product development.

The self-adjustable armrest assembly is featured on many seating options in Flexsteel’s Recreation business which is comprised of seating for both marine and recreational vehicles. This armrest assembly keeps the seat’s armrests in a horizontal position when adjusting the seat back to any reclined angle. This feature provides Flexsteel with a unique edge over other market competitors.
