Utility Composites to exhibit Raptor polymer nails at WPE California

SAN DIEGO – Utility Composites will demonstrate Raptor polymer fasteners for a variety of applications at Wood Pro Expo California, co-located with the Closets Expo, April 28-29, 2022, at the San Diego Convention Center.

Utility Composites says Raptor nails save users time and money while conserving materials and resources. The polymer nails do not have to be countersunk. They will not rust, corrode or cause wood degradation. After being driven into wood, the nails can be cut, sanded, sawed, and shaped without damaging tools or abrasives, which decreases machine downtime to replace tools or abrasive belts. Raptor leaves no holes to putty and once sanded and once painted or stained are virtually undetectable. (See Raptor University video above.)

Utility Composites adds that CNC woodworkers find the Raptor finish nails to be a quick and safe clamping method for holding multiple layers or small pieces to CNC routers, which provides savings on set up and removal downtime. The nails are router bit-friendly and eliminate the cost spent to replace bits damaged from accidental contact with metal nails, according to the company.

In woodworking applications where glue is used, such as door manufacturing, Raptor nails act as a clamp to hold parts together during drying. When Raptor is utilized, there is no need to wait for the glue to dry before cutting, shaping, sanding, and staining and there are no clamps to remove or metal nails to damage tools. The doors can immediately move throughout production without downtime, without tool or sander belt damage, and without holes to putty, the company says.
