Biesse demonstrating latest panel processing technology in Montreal event

MONTREAL - Biesse Group is holding an open house its state-of-the-art Montreal showroom (located in suburban Mirabel), in a two-day Inside Biesse event that launched April 12
Biesse is showcasing its latest technological innovations as industry professionals gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the new technology that is shaping the future of manufacturing. Included in the discussions is Sophia, Biesse’s new IoT (Internet of Things) platform, and cloud-based software management tool that provides a dashboard of real-time data on machine status, performance, and functionality.

Capitalizing on the flow of digital information, Biesse also hosted production design and production software providers Mastercam, Planit Canada and Microvellum, as well as Web-Cab, which demonstrated its Production Assistant, and MES (Manufacturing Execution Software) that integrates data for both manual assembly and automated plant machinery.

Matt Fleming, Biesse Canada's VP Sales, says business has been picking up, most recently in the furniture manufacturing segment. "We've seen an increase in investment lately in the business furniture area," Fleming says.
Biesse is using the Spring Inside Event both to demonstrate its a wide range of 4.0-ready machines, systems, and software, but to show the latest technology in automated sanding, Evolution seamless zero joint edgebanding, and nested CNC panel processing. The award-winning Viet S211 robotic hand sanding system, which can automatically interchange a selection of hand sanding power tools, is on the floor and demonstrated sanding five-piece doors in a video.
Biesse Group designs, manufactures, and distributes machines, integrated systems, and software for the producers of furniture, door/window frames, components for the construction, ship-building, and aerospace industries. Founded in Pesaro in 1969, by Giancarlo Selci, the company has been listed on the Stock Exchange (STAR segment) since June 2001 and currently counts 4000 employees throughout the world. The Inside Biesse event runs through today.
