NEW YORK — hm-LI Studio, founded by Haoming Li, recently introduced three new furniture collections: Weaving Chair, Le Sourire Chair, and Curl Cabinet Series. Each collection merges art, architecture, and nature to create minimalist pieces with a timeless appeal.

hm LI Stuido Weave Chair Series

Weaving Chair: Inspired by Li’s spontaneous folding of a receipt while waiting in line, this RTA collection explores the transformation of a flat surface into a dynamic 3D object. Crafted with precision, the chair features bent wood construction and mortise-and-tenon joinery, inviting user interaction. It draws on traditional Chinese "枨" elements, blending Eastern aesthetics with a modern design language.

hm LI Stuido Weave Le Sourire Chair Series

Le Sourire Chair: Influenced by Li's architectural background and family's heritage in Chinese painting, the Le Sourire Chair redefines solid wood furniture. Its flowing lines, reminiscent of calligraphy brushstrokes, create a sense of organic movement. CNC carving technology achieves a seamless connection between backrest and seat, creating a "floating" effect.

hm LI Stuido Curl Cabinet Series

Curl Cabinet Series: This collection explores the interplay of form and function with distinctive curved surfaces and woven grid patterns. The multi-directional opening doors offer flexible storage solutions. Combining wood and metal, the Curl Cabinet strikes a balance between industrial lightness and solid construction.

"My designs stem from a fascination with the interplay between structure and fluidity," said Li, who founded hm-LI Studio in 2023. "I believe design should be approachable, yet profound, allowing people to feel a sense of connection with the piece."
