Cutting Patterns into Veneer

Hello,

A friend asked my work on some decorations for her wedding. Currently, I’m stuck on this problem that I don’t know how to fix. Basically, I am attempting to cut out a pattern on some wood veneer faces. The main problem is I don’t know how to efficiently and effectively cut the pattern well. I taped a bunch of layers of the veneer that I cut up to try and minimize the about of cutting I would have to do. Then, I used a scroll saw to cut out as much material as possible. Then I used a Dremel to get rid of the saw marks. However, after separating the layers, there was a lot of chipping and a lot of saw marks were left. I can’t figure out how to solve this problem or a different method to do this besides buying a laser cutter. Any input would be helpful. Thanks
