Elektra USA bringing award-winning LED lighting to Closets Expo
Elektra LD8177 LED system 2025 Red Dot Product Design winner

Elektra's LD8177 LED system won the 2025 Red Dot Award for Product Design for its simple and slim niche lighting solution.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Elektra, a German-based manufacturer specializing in front-of-trend design LED lighting solutions will present a pair of prize-winning products at the Closets Expo, co-located with Wood Pro Expo Florida.

The company’s UL-certified lighting products are used in furniture, cabinet, closet and other residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Elektra will display the LD8177 LED system, fresh off winning the 2025 Red Dot Award for Product Design for its simple and slim niche lighting solution. It was recognized for superior design by an international jury made up of 43 experts from 21 countries.

The LD8177 LED system is a bright and effective means of illuminating the rear walls of kitchens and living rooms. The customer can easily add additional elements such as shelves or holders to the system. Different versions create an ambience that radiates light either upwards, downwards or to the rear, combining the niche and the furniture into a single unit.

The design concept of the LD 8177 fits a 16mm grid, which means it fits in visually with all standard furniture grids. The new system can also be used as illumination in other rooms, such as hotel rooms or bedrooms, where it can be installed behind the bed.

Elektra will also showcase the LD 8228 ring light, winner of the iF Design Award for 2025. The international jury awarded the ring light for being a minimalist solution for kitchen and bathroom furniture that combines a sophisticated design and high-quality technology with sustainability and simple handling.

The glare-free LD 8228 ring light features a nearly invisible flat cable connection. Thanks to its minimal height it blends unobtrusively into the background of lighting and furniture schemes. The self-adhesive attachment makes it easy to mount and remove without leaving a trace. This considerably reduces process costs.

Elektra recently marked the one-year anniversary of its U.S. sales office and distribution center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
