WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Closet Guru and The Closet Doctor will team up to present a pair of Advanced Installer Clinics on Friday, April 14, at the 2023 Closets Expo.

Eric Marshall, aka The Closet Guru, and Derreck Holland, owner of The Closet Doctor, will draw upon their nearly 70 years of combined experience in the closet industry to discuss best practices for installing organization products in high-end closets, garages and home offices. Attendees will also see a wall bed be assembled.

The Association of Closet and Storage Professional will offer its Registered Installer exam from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 13. ACSP members and non-members can sign up to take the exam for the show special price of $75. Participants should bring a laptop or other device they can use to take an online exam to the ACSP's booth 512. Register now.

Marshall co-owns the Closet Training Institute along with his wife, Lori. The Tempe, Ariz.-based company specializes in helping people get started in the closet industry or for helping closet professionals learn ways to improve and grow their businesses. Marshall has amassed more than four decades of experience in the closet industry since he was the first hired employee of California Closet. He is also the immediate past president of the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals (ACSP).

Holland founded The Closet Doctor nearly 25 years ago to serve the greater Sacramento, Calif., area. The company takes pride that its installation crews complete 95% of their installations from start to finish in one day.

The Installation 3.0 clinic will include the assembly of a a twin wall bed using hardware supplied by Richelieu and casework components from The Closets Company. 

Here’s a snapshot of the Advanced Installation Clinics schedule and program. Both sessions will be held on April 14 on the Closets Expo show floor at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. -- Installation 2.0 will cover high-end closets including:

• Working with multi-depth panels;
• Crown and base mouldings; 
• Cleat-hung cabinets;
• Countertops and islands; and
• Inserting hinges and cams on site. 

Noon to 1 p.m. --  Installation 3.0 will cover other home organization projects including:

• Garage cabinets;
• Wall beds; and
• Home offices. 

Registration is free for attendees of the April 12 Closets or Wood Pro Conferences. The registration fee for non-conference attendees is $125 for both clinics.

About the 2023 Closets Conference & Expo and Wood Pro Expo Florida
