So I really love to work with pine I love the natural, light tones. The problem I have with coatings is that it yellows it. So I'm working on a new project and it's a big one. While using clear gorilla glue to bind two wood pieces together I noticed the nice, clear finish it gave the wood, and no yellowing to boot. I've never had a product do this to pine. There's always that yellowing that I don't like but the clear gorilla glue just brought out the grain and left the natural tone of the wood. I absolutely love it and absolutely would love to use it as a clear finish. It's like the product I've been searching for, for so long for coating on pine.
Now I know it's a glue, but can I use it as a coating. Is it toxic once it's cured. It would mainly be used as a coating on exterior pine, but hoping to apply some indoors. Also, will it break down in the hot Florida Sun. My project won't be outdoors all the time but at times yes.
Im my pic, the wood to the right has the clear gorilla glue coating while the left has no finish.
I love it. No yellowing and appears to make a very durable coating.
What say you?
Also, can you please answer the question. Many sites I've been in search of an answer just make recommendations on other products but never answer the question as to whether clear gorilla glue can be used this way. Thank you I so appreciate your help.
