Colonial Saw’s UT.MA P20 CCN Profile Grinder offers a fast and powerful profile grinder, says the company, with no templates needed. The machine accurately rough grinds from blank knife to finished profile directly from DXF CAD drawings and features a 10-HP grinding motor with variable speed control and four CNC digital servo motor controlled axes. Also featured is a full cabin enclosure and a quick change grinding wheel that grinds against the cutting edge only, limiting any burning to the bottom of the grind, says Colonial. The UT.MA P20 CNC Profile Grinder can be used for manufacturing or regrinding profile tools and as a complementary finishing machine for those who rough grind with a waterjet, adds the company. Moulding and millwork companies can use it to grind custom knives in the original heads while toolmakers can use it for the mass production of HSS moulder knives, carbide inserts, brazed cutterheads and router bits, says Colonial Saw.
