Bosch introduces the DDB181 18V 1/2-inch Drill Driver. It measures 7.1 inches long and weighs 3 pounds (including the Bosch BAT611 1.5Ah battery). Applications include assembly, installation and drilling. It has a driving torque of 350 inch pounds with two speed settings - optimized torque for screw driving and speed for drilling at 1,300 rotations per minute for wood and metal applications, adds Bosch. Other features include 20 clutch settings and a motor brake; a1/2-inch tool-free auto-lock chuck; a variable speed trigger for speed regulation; a LED light; and an ergonomic soft grip. For 18V system users, the DDB181 offers a powerful, basic-duty drill/driver with a 1/2-inch chuck for all-day work, adds the company. The DDB181 has a 1.5Ah battery, but as part of the Flexible Power System, it also works with any Bosch 18V lithium-ion battery users may have as part of a cordless system. The DDB181-02 kit, which comes with a charger and bag in addition to the two 1.5Ah batteries, retails for $159 ($169 CA). The DDB181 is available in an 18-volt combo kit (CLPK26-181) with the IDS181 impact driver. The kit includes two 1.5Ah batteries, charger and a bag for $199 ($229 CA).
