Tembec Announces Mill Cuts

TEMISCAMING, QUE - Tembec announced shutdowns at multiple mills that will affect nearly 400 workers in Cochrane, Hearst and Chapleau. About 30 of the employees will lose their jobs due to the cancellation of a shift crew in Cochrane. OREM, UT – Institutional furniture manufacturer Mity Enterprises Inc. said Chief Executive Bradley T. Nielson resigned, according to Forbes. The news came on the same day that the company’s shareholders approved its acquisition by private equity companies Sorenson Capital Partners LP and Partners LP.

Max Home to Add 150 Jobs

DALLAS – Furniture maker Max Home announced it will be locating in a 96,000-square-foot space in the Iuka Industrial Park, which will initially create 50 new jobs. According to the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, the company said its custom upholstered furniture operation in Iuka will begin production next month. The company hopes to have 150 jobs within 12 months.
