Andersen Windows Workers to Receive 22% Profit-Sharing

BAYPORT, MN -- Employees of Andersen Corp., a manufacturer of wood windows, patio doors and storm doors, will receive annual profit-sharing checks equal to 22% of their 2006 salaries, workers were told Jan. 29, according to the Pioneer Press. The company will distribute checks to more than 6,000 Andersen and Renewal by Andersen employees in mid-February. The amount is down from last year's distribution of 26%.

Home Depot to Fill 15,000 Jobs

ATLANTA -- The Home Depot Inc., a home improvement retailer, announced on Jan. 30, plans to hire about 15,000 new associates during the spring season, including 2,000 in Chicago, according to The Associated Press.

Huttig Names Gurley VP

ST. LOUIS -- Huttig Building Products Inc., a domestic distributor of millwork, building materials and wood products, announced Jan. 31 that Greg Gurley, 52, has been named vice president of marketing and product management, according to Yahoo! Finance. Gurley, a 22-year veteran of the millwork industry, will report to Jon Vrabely, president and CEO of Huttig, and will be in charge of the company's corporate marketing, national accounts and product management teams.

ArtCAM Forum Reaches 5,000 Registered Users

SALT LAKE CITY –ArtCAM by Delcam announced that its forum has reached 5,000 registered users after just over four years of operation. According to the company, users from around the world share help, ideas, tips and tricks, or demonstrate the ways in which the software is put to use in a number of different industries. Additionally, the company says it has recently redesigned the forum, adding stronger security and enabling RSS feeds.

KI Provides Education Centers with Custom Furniture

GREEN BAY, WI – KI was chosen to provide Career and Technology Education Centers (C-TEC) with a suite of furniture for its new Licking County, OH facility. C-TEC is an educational resource for high school students, adult learners and businesses. The furniture was placed in classrooms, computer labs, office and administrative spaces, a lounge area and the cafeteria.
