QualityCabinets adds Google SketchUp to design tools

QualityCabinets, a unit of Masco, further broadened its online design tool offerings at KBIS, launching an application built on Google SketchUp, an on online collaborative software application. The move follows a January launch by QualityCabinets of ProCision, an online design application for professional installers.

Wood Industry to Hire, Invest: WIC Report

The U.S. wood manufacturing sector is poised for recovery, says a new industry study, with more than 90 percent of companies planning to hire. Half or more expect to make capital investments, says the report, but most firms will pay cash or lease, avoiding banks and speeding the expansion and retooling plans. This and other positive news was delivered during last week's Wood Industry Conference.
