EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. – The Women Builders Council named Maggie Hardy Magerko, owner and president of 84 Lumber building materials chain, winner of its 2017 Champion Award. Hardy Magerko is also owner of Nemacolin Woodlands, a 2,000 acre resort.

The award recognizes Hardy Magerko as a driving force in the building industry, and her great responsibility - to employees, customers and the communities the 84 Lumber serves. Selected as one of three 2017 recipients, Hardy Magerko was chosen for her ability to drive change. The association said Hardy Magerko's commitment to taking responsibility has directly led to her success – and the success of both of her companies.

During her tenure, Hardy Magerko has transformed 84 Lumber into the nation’s leading privately held supplier of building materials, manufactured components, and industry-leading services for single- and multi-family residences and commercial buildings. Under her leadership, 84 Lumber has grown to more than 250 stores and was named to Forbes’ List of America’s 250 Best Mid-Size Employers for the last two years. Similarly, Nemacolin Woodlands has been rated a AAA Five-Diamond resort and boasts more than 2,000 acres of four-season amenities.
