West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. (TSX:WFT) announced sold $300 million of senior unsecured notes to U.S. invesntors, using proceeeds to repay its outstanding 5.2% senior unsecured notes that matured today.

Stanley Furniture Company, Inc. (Nasdaq-NGS:STLY) third quarter results recorded a $7.5 million gain on closing down its Young America nursery and youth lines. Finding it couldn't compete with Asian factories, Stanley is now gaining ground on design appeal in residential furniture.

Fire at Wood Pellets Plant Injures 3 Workers

A fire at a Canadian pine wood pellet manufacturer, Pinnacle Renewable Energy, injured three workers. An official investigation into the cause has yet to be launched.
