Vecoplan won a $25.7 million contract from German Pellets Gmbh, which will begin construction on the world's largest wood pellet plant, in Urania, LA. It is double the size of a Woodville, TX plant going on line now.

Idaho Timber, Boise, acquired and will reopen Hood Industries' shuttered sawmill in Coushatta, LA. Following a $3.5 million investment, the sawmill will produce dimension lumber and other timber products from southern yellow pine.
