Imports of wood flooring to the U.S., measured in TEUs, have been on a four-month slide since May. Imports dropped again in September to the lowest level seen this year, decreasing 7% from August. China is the largest supplier of wood flooring to the U.S., in fact, about 37% of the imports came from China in August.
Brazil and Sweden follow as the second and third largest suppliers, respectively. A big portion of the shipments pass through the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles before reaching their final destinations. The ports of Norfolk and Savannah also take in a significant portion of the imports.
