Portable Sawmills Co. Awards Prizes to Challenge WinnersBUFFALO, NY -- Norwood Industries, a leading global portable sawmill and forestry equipment manufacturer, is pleased to announce the winning entries in its annual customer photo and video challenge. Each year, Norwood sawmill owners are invited to submit photos and videos of their sawmilling operations and the projects that they have built with their Norwood portable sawmills and forestry equipment. Starting in 2008, Norwood has given out thousands of dollars in merchandise credits every year.

“The Norwood Challenge originally started as a photo contest, but we recently added a fifth category for videos,” says Norwood President, Ashlynne Dale, “And this year we were thrilled to give the very first $500 winning prize for a video entry to Bob Charlebois. He submitted some exceptional footage of his Norwood sawmill in action”.

Project photos and videos are divided into five categories:

Homes, Cabins & Outbuildings - Exterior

Homes, Cabins & Outbuildings - Interior

Furniture, Cabinets & Fine Woodworking Project

Norwood Portable Sawmill & Operation in Action - Photos

Norwood Portable Sawmill & Operation in Action - Videos

A panel of judges awards points for workmanship, imagination, complexity and the overall use of Norwood equipment. Three prizes of $500, $300 and $100 in “Norwood Cash” (merchandise credits) are awarded in each category. Winners can use their prizes towards new sawmill or forestry equipment orders from Norwood.

All 2012 winning submissions can be found on Norwood’s website at NorwoodSawmills.com/norwoods-2012-photo-video-challenge-results.

“We tip our hats to Norwood owners. They are skilled and resourceful people who deserve recognition for their hard work,” said Dale, “We encourage all Norwood sawmill owners, and soon-to-be Norwood owners, to share photos and videos of their mills and the fine homes and furniture they are able to build with their own lumber. Our annual contest is a great way to show off their work and creativity while having a chance to win and invest further into their mill or sawmilling business.”
