An alum of Jumpstart Foundry, one of the top ranked startup accelerators in the U.S, the company was founded in May of 2014 with its sights set on allowing customers to browse, build, and buy their own custom furniture in three simple steps:

Introducing PARSONAL

Arrister is launching their first furniture line, PARSONAL, on Kickstarter March 4th. Touting a first of its kind product configurator, users will be able to customize every piece in the line from length, width, height, finish and more, all in real­time 3D on any device with a web browser.

“We’ve spent the last year perfecting our online user experience, from selection to checkout.” explained Andy Chick, a product designer by trade and CEO of the company.

“The high standard to which we build our furniture is also the standard to which we’ve crafted our entire customization process.”

Spawned from the award ­winning ​2ndlook Studio​, Arrister has designed all of its furniture around high quality materials and ease of use, from assembly to disassembly.

“We built PARSONAL around the principles of the original Parsons table, which was intended to be so simple that regardless of its size or finish, the integrity of the design would be maintained. Because of this, PARSONAL seamlessly blends with any style or aesthetic,” explained Andy Chick.

Every piece in PARSONAL is built using high quality, solid wood sourced locally from the Appalachian Timber Reserve ­ you won't find MDF or particle board here. The company aims to raise $36,000 on the crowdfunding platform, and plans to use the funds to secure a production ready factory space, as well as to finish development of the product configurator and perfect it’s ready to assemble functionality. PARSONAL launches on Kickstarter March 4th.
