For five days, May 6 to 10, 2013, Hannover becomes the world capital of woodworking technology during the biennial Ligna Fair with visitors from over 90 countries. Biesse will be introducing many high performance, technologically advanced solutions as well as innovative new software that you won’t want to miss!

Biesse will introduce our NEW, innovative bSolid software, capable of simplifying the management of numerically controlled machines to the greatest possible extent. Biesse has been developing this ambitious software for years and is excited to present it at Ligna. With bSolid, it is possible to simulate and design with a simple and intuitive approach, allowing any user to access sophisticated feautures: from an idea directly to the visual designing of the “part”, going from a concept to its visual designing in a few clicks.

Thanks to the full integration of the latest generation cad, you can use bSolid as a unique design system. bsolid incorporates a new learning system that transforms your imagination into reality, guaranteeing simplified process management, improved performance and reduced machining times.

The visual and direct simulation available on bSolid allows you to verify the correct data used regarding tool paths, preventing trivial programming errors such as depth, lead-in or working sequence. It is now possible to manipulate, measure and modify the finished part before executing it on the machine.

Thanks to Biesse’s strong focus on product development, we will be introducing many high performance, technologically advanced solutions at Hannover. Our wide range of innovations solutions being presented include working centers for many type of applications, window and door manufacturing solutions, technologies for edgbanding, finishing, drilling and sizing machines as well as a working cell with an automatic storing systems for picking operations.

NEW CNC MACHINING CENTERS

The new Rover A 5 axis (NEW!) is a very competitive machine in price and performance, delivering a flexible, fast setup solution capable of creating very complex components easily. The Rover A 5 axis features a powerful and interpolating 5 axes electrospindle and a drilling head with independent spindles. In the woodworking industry, the Rover A 5 axis is the only machine in its class capable of machining parts up to 225mm (9”) thick. The maximum panel width for routing is 1660 mm but the table design allows a panel with a 2100mm width to be positioned without interfering with the moving parts of the machine allowing for more flexibility.

Biesse’s Rover B G Edge series (NEW!) of edgebanding centers makes it possible to complete processing of a shaped and edgebanded panel with a single machine. The wide range of machines, operating units and technology, make the machine suitable for all production companies: artisans, mid-sized and large departments or prototype production.

Rover K G (NEW!) is the entry level machine with gantry structure for all manufacturers wanting to automate their production. The rigidity and reliability of the gantry structure is combined with the compactness and flexibility of the working center. Specially designed for panel processing, the Rover K G can satisfy all requirements of manufacturers and mid-sized companies with special parts department who want to grow with small investment.

Rover C 5 Axis delivers a strong alternative to the use of cumbersome and expensive aggregates. It cuts machining times by reducing the number of tool changes required and is one of the most compact 5 axis units on the market and is the perfect solution for the made-to-measure furniture and joinery industries.

FLEXIBLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR WINDOW AND DOOR SOLUTIONS

The multicenter Uniline (NEW!) is the CNC machining center for companies interested in a highly flexible system complete with automatic loading and unloading, designed to increase the production of windows and doors components. This modular solution can also be integrated into multiple cells making it attractive to companies involved in batch processing. Uniline’s new concept dramatically reduces labor: with the standard configuration, Uniline runs without operator intervention but can also be configured to run continuous cycles while only requiring 20% of the operator’s overall work time.

The UniWin HP WMS multicenter completes, and further improves, the performance of Biesse’s family of multicenters. Even today, after several years from its first introduction, it is the most productive and compact solution on the market for the production of standard and special windows on the same system. The new modular solution, combined with Biesse’s automatic multilevel magazines, allow UniWin to further improve its production capacity by using the concept of "non-stop" production on multiple shifts per day. WIDE RANGE OF MACHINING FOR THE EDGBANDING

STREAM MDS (NEW!) is the ideal answer to flexibility required by the medium-large scale industry. This solution, available also in automated lines with other machines, guarantees square and final size of different format panels. With Stream MDS, working batch 1 is possible in a simple and rational way because it has been designed to minimize space, costs and impact on the factory.

Akron 400 is a single sided edgebander for any kind of edge in coil or solid wood lippings. Compact working units, designed to simplify setup, are the best benefit of this range. A modern and user-friendly software interface makes it easy to understand the automatic changeover logic. The edgbanding range of machines designed for craftsmen is represent by Akron 1300: this range has been expanded to include new models that can be customized to meet every need. The machines can be configured with compact and ergonomic main working units like pre-milling, corner rounding and finishing units. CNC axis technology has been applied in an intuitive way, using the most reliable components.

It is also possible to see demonstrations on the Roxyl, the answer to a very wide variety of material, panel sizes and applications. The new automatic edge magazine, capable of changing the edge with the cabin closed, guarantees high flexibility and ease of use.

SOLUTIONS FOR A PERFECT FINISHING

Opera 7 (NEW!) is the new high volume Wide Belt Sander by Viet designed to be integrated into high production finishing lines, with the ability to perform a wide variety of applications. The standard configuration includes, cross, roller, spinbrush, superfinishing and cross unit, making the machine suitable for a broad range of applications including presanding and superfinishing of veneered and painted panels to rustic-structured effect of raw panels or veneered and trimming of the outer edge of any kind of panel. This new machine combines the highest Viet technology including generous sanding belts dimension (8700 mm for cross belt unit and 3250 mm for the longitudinal units) and all available technological solutions to pose Opera 7 top in the market for sanders intended for large-scale industry. Positioning the opera 7 in the most sophisticated sander category.

S2 is a complete calibrating-sanding machine configured with 3 operating belts and designed to satisfy the requirements of industries who need functional technology. The range of personalisation available allows the operator to obtain the most appropriate configuration for the required application. The S2 is capable of carrying out calibrating/sanding operations on solid wood and sanding on painted/varnished panels.

TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION FOR SIZING PROCESSING

For sizing machines, we will demonstrate the Sektor 4 range of panel sizing centres constructed to satisfy the needs of the small and medium companies due to the specific design for single part production or small baches. At the Ligna fair, we will introduce the latest version of the Sektor 4, which delivers further enhanced ergonomics and accessibility without changing the characteristics that distinguished the previous model’s compact overall dimensions, technological solutions, complete basic equipment and ease of use. We also offer the optional Twin Pusher 1.2 device that provides two cutting lines on the same machine, executing multiple cutting phases simultaneously reducing working cycle time significantly.

A complete WORKING CELL dedicated to sizing and nesting will also be demonstrated on the stand. It is composed by WNTR 650, Rover A G FT together with an automatic Winstore 3D K1 of positioning on 3 axis, providing a particularly high level of efficiency to the cell. The automatic store is ideal for processing cells where the variety of items, sizes and colors require loading flexibility, intervention and ensuring continuous productivity of the machine even with small batches.

WNTR 650 is a high performance single cutting line machine designed to satisfy the most demanding manufacturer. The WNTR 650 Twin Pusher 2.1 allows great flexibility and productivity when cutting single panels or stacks of panels. The Twin Pusher 2.1, one of many Biesse patents on this model, is composed of an independently driven pusher and a single gripper. Being independent from the main pusher allows simultaneous management of different cutting phases, increasing the productivity up to 40%.

Rover A G FT is the perfect solution for the cabinets, kitchen and furniture manufacturers and in general for all the panel-based applications. Thanks to the automatic loading and unloading system it's the right choice for small shops that can use it to process big panels without the need of a beamsaw pre-cut and therefore, reducing machine floorspace.

DRILLING HIGH SOLUTIONS

The EKO 902 high speed drilling solution will also be available for visitors to see. This CNC machining model’s compact design requires a reduced floorspace and combines flexibility with high performances allowing the management of different panel types in real time.

In order to reach high speed production, the panel movement occurs by means of two independent clamps on a controlled axes, while the panel machining is done in vertical position, which is a distinguishing mark of this machine, allowing working also on delicate surfaces. EKO 902 has a modular concept and it is able to execute all boring, routing and glue & dowel inserting operations.

Vektor is able to sequentially drill, mill, route, and insert panels of different dimensions. It is complete with a panel handling system that enables the operator to manage panel loading and unloading without stopping the production cycle. The proposed Vektor is equipped with a 10-position-revolver unit and a self-selecting drilling unit, which allows an “always-ready” tool set for any processing type.

Finally, completing the drilling technologies, Skipper V31, the smallest of the range. The Skipper V31 is a compact and versatile Biesse numerical control drilling machine that combines flexibility and performance in a reduced floor space. Skipper 130 is the innovative solution that allows the customization of different types of formats and the ability to produce tailor made panels. The availability of new options allows the processing of the 6 panel sides in one single passage, including the dowel insertion.
