REHAU Introduces RAUWORKS Acoustic Adjustable Screen

LEESBURG, Va. — To accommodate the open design of today’s modern office environments, REHAU offers a comprehensive line of uniquely engineered acoustical management solutions. The latest addition to this line – the RAUWORKS™ acoustic adjustable screen – facilitates an innovative combination of sound absorption and partitioning to reduce sound propagation across workstations.

“Today’s office spaces are more and more reflective of a collaborative philosophy, including many open areas to cultivate ongoing communication among co-workers,” said Yannick Gendarme, North American director of REHAU’s furniture business unit. “Despite this fact, there remains a need for ensuring that acoustics do not inhibit productivity at workstations or other areas in which concentration is required. Recognizing this, REHAU has innovated intelligent components like the RAUWORKS acoustic adjustable screen to not only provide privacy, but also to effectively absorb sound coming from close proximities.”

The RAUWORKS acoustic adjustable screen is available in three designs – a fixed screen, motorized adjustable lift screen and a segmented height-adjustable split screen – to allow for customization of the workstation environment. The designs provide an assessed sound absorption rate between 0.85 and 0.75 and meet the criterion of up to a B sound absorption class (“extremely absorbent”) per DIN EN ISO 11654. Providing an NRC value range between 0.8 and 0.75 and an SAA value between 0.79 and 0.74 per ASTM C423, all three RAUWORKS acoustic adjustable screen designs deliver proven and exceptional sound abatement performance.

“The diverse RAUWORKS acoustic adjustable screen designs can accommodate a varying degree of privacy between twin workstations, as well as enable adjustments to allow for either independent or collaborative work,” Gendarme said.

In addition to the RAUWORKS acoustic adjustable screen, REHAU provides the Acoustic Line™ tambour door system. The innovative Acoustic Line features hollow profiles with punched holes and an inner non-woven acoustic material capable of absorbing noise in all frequency ranges while significantly reducing reverberation.
