HSD to Show ES951 e-core 'Smart' Spindle at AWFS Fair 2013PESARO, ITALY - After making its world premier at the Ligna show this past May, HSD Mechatronic Solutions will exhibit the ES951 e-core 'intelligent' spindle at the biennial AWFS Fair next month (Booth 4957). The manufacturer describes this product as "mechanically smart, with an electronic core -- the first smart spindle that has been ever made." Its "smart" control system features:

  • real-time electrospindle rotation speed
  • working hours data monitoring and recording at different rotation speeds
  • digital sensors calibration
  • 24V cooling fan supply
  • cooling fan rotation control
  • motor temperature continuous monitoring
  • bearings temperature monitoring (option)

The ES951 e-core comes Canopen and I/O Link FIELDBUS ready (also available digital version). Additional features include machine wiring costs reduction, integration with the machine, easy machine-electrospindle connection, real-time operation monitoring and electrospindle set-up remote control.

Modular construction means the shaft kit is frontally replaced; no other components need to be removed. Main components replacement/service can be done directly on the machine. In addition, piston replacemement/service and overall maintenance is user-friendly, HDS says.
