Showplace Wood Products Sova Elected KCMA President TUCSON, AZ - Paul Sova, president of Showplace Wood Products, was elected president of the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association board this morning. 

Sova outlined an agenda for KCMA, which is holding its 58th annual convention here in Tucson, noting  KCMA will reset its goals after strategic review, to assure it continues meeting rapidly changing member needs.

“We want to make sure the KCMA is relevant," Sova said. "We want to re-examine KCMA following the recovery, and by the end of the year we want to take a look at who we are and who are members are."

Sova outlined several priorities for the new KCMA board officers elected today: VP is Brad Boyer, American Woodmark Corp.; treasurer Mark Trexler, Master WoodCraft Cabinetry; and immediate past president Bob Gronlund, Wood-Mode Inc., whose term as president concluded with the election of new officers.

"There are several things we need to do," said Sova, citing the growing relationship between the National Kitchen & Bath Association, which operates the KBIS trade show running next month in New Orleans.

Sova said KCMA will actively position itself using new media. “We will work to advance the internet technology and social media, and provide membership training,” Sova said. KCMA relaunched its website this year, which now features video and Twitter news feeds #KCMAorg.

“And most important we are the voice of our membership with the government.” “There are contentious issues on many fronts.” ANSI, formaldehyde, ITC antidumping with China; “The association is goling to be in the middle of that. 

"We have a lot of work to do and I look forward to this position," Sova sayd. "KCMA has a good story to tell; we are on the way back and on the rebound.”

Today's membership election of officers, who are on the KCMA board as well, also included four first-time KCMA board of directors: Dennis Hamilton, Masco Cabinetry; Mael Hernandez, Custom Cupboards Inc.; Rich Tobin, MasterBrand Cabinets; and associate supplier member Karl Rudisser, Blum, Inc.

KCMA's 58th annual convention runs through today in Tucson.
