3M introduces a new alternative to solvent based adhesives with its 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF. The product offers strength and speed comparable to solvent based adhesives, with additional benefits including zero VOCs and GREENGUARD certification. 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF is derived from a tape formulation that gains strength as it dries. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including woodworking, furniture manufacturing, mattress and upholstery manufacturing, foam bonding and specialty vehicle manufacturing. Its adhesive capabilities include fast bonding (1 to 10 minutes) and a strong ultimate strength, 3M says. Depending on the substrates used, 3M says the adhesive can achieve handling strength almost instantly, yet remains repositionable while still wet. Additionally, substrates stay repositionable while the adhesive is wet. It also offers good heat resistance. The adhesive is non-flammable in its wet state and contains no polychloroprene. 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF bonds most foams, plastics, plastic laminates, wood, plywood and canvas to themselves and each other.
