The outlook for 2024 and 2025 by the WOOD 100 is relatively optimistic, although less than it was a year ago. Whether the uncertainty is from this being an election year, or what’s happening in the world in general, of those that responded 70% said they project 2024 sales to exceed those of last year, although just 66% expect their 2024 sales to be “good” or excellent.” That number jumps to 86% for 2025, indicating greater optimism for the year ahead.

When asked about their top concerns, respondents once again ranked the economy and employee recruitment/retention one and two respectively, followed closely by material costs, profit margins and supply chain challenges. It’s worth noting that employee skills ranked a distant sixth, so while it may be difficult to find and retain workers, those that they do have are doing the job well.
