Louisiana sawmill invests $21M to rebuild after 2025 fire, creating 77 new jobs

C&C Forest Products announced it is investing over $21 million to rebuild its Coushatta sawmill following a 2025 fire, repositioning the facility as a more efficient, cost-competitive specialty lumber and timber operation. The company is expected to create 77 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of $65,260, which is 34% above the average Red River Parish wage, while retaining 27 current positions.

COBHAM, United Kingdom — Hexagon’s Production Software Division has acquired Planit Canada, the world’s second-largest reseller of Cabinet Vision, strengthening its direct presence in the Canadian woodworking software market.Details of the transaction were not immediately available.

The manufacturer of drawer boxes, cabinet doors, and accessories is entering this process as a deliberate strategic step to protect its business and establish a stronger operational and financial foundation for sustainable, profitable growth. Earlier this year, its sister company, Candlelight Cabinets, paused operations due to financial difficulties.

International Interior Design Association appoints 2026 board of directors

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) has appointed Bill Bouchey as the 2026-2027 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, while Mike Johnson II has been elevated to IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for new terms as vice president are Christina Gonano, Jennifer C. Graham, and Natalie Hartkopf.
