U.S. Wood Industry Also Heads to Toronto for WMS 2015

The largest wood industry event in Canada -- Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo – is officially bigger and better than years past. IKEA Tests Sliding Partitions, Aimed at Apartments

IKEA, which has been researching the tiny home movement, may be nearing launch of a movable system of sliding room divider panels. Products, which would likely use sliding hardware, are aimed at rapid repurposing of living quarters in multi-unit homes, where square footage in apartments and condominiums continues to decline.

National lumber processor Conner Industries, Inc. named Mike Hans as president of its Lumber Division. British Columbia Invests $2.2 Million To Promote Wood in Buildings, Products

VANCOUVER, BC - The British Columbia provincial government says it is investing $2.2 million in the Wood First program to promote the use of B.C. wood both locally and internationally, and help advance innovative wood-building systems and value-added wood products.

The funding is being awarded to six industry trade associations and institutions with proven records in research, development and marketing of wood products and skills training to carry out Wood First activities. They include:
