New Weinig Software Links Panel and Solid Wood Machine Data

EnVision, a plant-wide software that integrates manufacturing data flow through both panel and solid wood machinery, has been developed by Weinig. Aimed at both the solid wood and panel industries, it is intended to enable mass customization production.

Lumber Liquidators Comeback: Air Testing, Floor Replacements

Lumber Liquidators says it will provide for indoor air testing, and even floor replacements, for buyers of its laminate floors made in China. The wood flooring firm faces a Senate probe and class action lawsuits after 60 Minutes reported it sells flooring with formaldehyde.

$8.7 Million in Federal Funds Aimed at Biomass Fuel Development

USDA announced the availability of up to $8.7 million in funding for bioenergy research and education efforts as well as publishing the final rule for a program that provides incentives for those interested in developing biomass for renewable energy.

Lumber Liquidators Expands Enhanced Showrooms Nationwide

Lumber Liquidators says it opened or remodeled about one-third of its stores across the U.S. incorporating its larger flooring display areas. Operating 350 stores in 46 states and Canada, the flooring firm built 34 new stores and remodeled 17 in 2014.

Sport-Haley Holdings has filed voluntary petitions for relief under Chapter 11, allowing the company to complete the winddown of Chromcraft Revington. The furniture company's sale to Arts & Crafts was finalized Feb. 27.

American Woodmark Cabinetry Profits Up 250 Percent

American Woodmark third quarter cabinetry sales increased 12% to $189 million, while profits rose exponentially, up 250 percent to $7.5 million for the period ended January 31, 2015.

Conestoga Wood to Rebrand Sunriver Cabinetry Components

The Sunriver cabinet components brand will be incorporated into that of parent firm Conestoga Wood Specialties, the large custom cabinet doors and wood cabinet components firm announced.
