Bioformix Adds Senior Vice President of Research & Development

CINCINNATI – Bioformix, Inc., a developer of efficient, high-performance, sustainable monomer platforms, has added Jeff Sullivan, Ph.D., a proven chemist and innovator, as Senior Vice President, Research & Development. Sullivan is tasked with building the company’s Research & Development organization, directing its chemical technology, and facilitating innovation and intellectual property creation. He and his team will play a leading role in fulfilling Bioformix’s mission of creating and commercializing new technologies.

Prior to joining Bioformix, Sullivan was the Chief Technical Officer at Shepherd Chemical Company where he developed and executed the company’s global technology goals. In addition, he designed and built several of the company’s state-of-the-art laboratories and an advanced materials pilot facility. Sullivan previously spent 15 years as technical director at the Boulder Scientific Company. As its fifth employee, he built the company’s R&D division from the ground up and directed product development, synthesis, process development and commercial scale-up.

Sullivan has co-authored numerous scientific articles and also holds 25 plus patents including ones for methylene malonates and the synthesis, processing and preparation of various chemical compounds.

Sullivan earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and conducted his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in classics and mathematics at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Va., and a master’s degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo.
