RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, QUEBEC - Cabinetry and woodworking tool manufacturer Outils Viel Inc. has received $181,650 from the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, to buy machine tools and other equipment that will eincrease its production capacity

Founded in 1978, Outils Viel designs and manufactures specialty woodworking tools for cabinet makers, sharpening companies and enthusiast woodworkers. The firm, whose products are sold on national and international markets, wants new equipment, including a machining centre, a numerically controlled lathe, a press and a welding machine to be able to machine larger parts. The project is part of a wider growth strategy for Outils Viel, which recently centralized  woodworking tool operations in a new, larger building better adapted to its manufacturing needs.
