CHARLOTTE, NC

- The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) 59th annual convention opens Wednesday, Oct. 26 running through Saturday, Oct. 29 in Charlotte, NC.

Along with peer networking, sponsor exhibition area and technical sessions, the setting in Charlotte, home of the NASCAR Museum, will present an opportunity on Wednesday, Oct. 26,  for team racing in NASCAR-worthy vehicles, driving at more than 100-mph.


Among AWI Convention highlights:

Thursday, Oct. 27
At 7:30 a.m., "Pit Stop: Breakfast with the Experts," with a roundtable discussion on a topic selected by one of AWI’s annual sponsors who will each host a breakfast table.

9:00 a.m.
  Jeffrey Dietrich, Senior Analyst, Institute for Trend Research, will present "The Big Picture of the Recovery." Dietrich will identify macro trends in the economy that will have an impact on architectural woodworkers.
 
10:45  – 11:45 a.m. "Outlook for Manufacturing: The Race for Revitalization," will be presented by Cliff Johnson, III, VP, National Association of Manufacturers, who will address how manufacturing will continue to lead the growth and prosperity of the U.S. economy.

A Product Fair will be held between sessions on Thursday an Friday, with AWI Supplier Members and industry vendors. 

Friday, Oct. 28
2:00 p.m. - "Innovation Forum: Companies That Lead the Pack" will be moderated by Steve Waltman, VP, Sales & Marketing, Stiles Machinery, Inc. Participants include: Andrew Campbell, president, Eastern Millwork, Inc.; Robert Pirrotti, president, Hollywood Woodwork, Inc.; and Greg Porfido, COO, Mark Richey Woodworking.
