Doug Mockett & Co.’s Levity task lamp, a winning entry for the Product Innovation Awards (PIA) hosted by Architectural Products, offers flexible directed task lighting with power options. It features telescoping arms with omni-directional movement and directed LED lighting and has the ability to hide away flush with the table when not in use. Levity's slim design: 8-7/8 inches long by 2-3/8 inches wide, includes two power outlets in the base of the unit. Mockett explains the Levity rises automatically to 4-1/2 inches and turns on its two LED lights when the lid is pulled. Levity can be lifted to a maximum height of 21" or anywhere in between and will rotate in any direction. Lights can be turned off by touching the lamp or will turn off automatically when the unit is closed. The LED lights offer 35,000 hours, says the company, which equates to 17 years of usage. A panel of architects, interior designers and lighting designers were among the judges of the Product Innovation Awards.
