MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The head of one Canada's leading kitchen cabinet manufacturers,  Deslaurier Custom Cabinets, will discuss how social media affects and shapes his company's sales mix, strategy, and marketing at WMS 2017, November 2-4 at the International Centre.

Denis Staples, president of the Ottawa, Ont. firm, has titled his presentation, Your Face, My face, Snap Face -- The World of Social Media.

"We will discuss the social media initiatives that we use, which ones work the best, what social media has done for us, how to measure the effects of social media, the dangers of social media, and whether to do social media in-house," said Staples.  According to Staples, the specifics of the presentation will include: choosing the right platforms, retaining followers and keeping them engaged, and using analytics to your advantage.  "We'll explore how social media can hold you accountable, gives followers a public forum, and enables you to take the good with the bad."

The presentation is part of  WMS 2017's conference program devoted to cabinet manufacturing and design.  Additional tracks will include finishing, panel and hardware trends, as well as small shop best practices.

The Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference and Expo –– the largest event for the secondary wood manufacturing market in Canada –– will take place November 2-4, 2017 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
