QualityCabinets adds flexibilityANN ARBOR (MI) – Addressing the trend of more and more homeowners choosing to age in place, QualityCabinets is demonstrating design flexibility with universal access options and accessories at this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.

The following universal design options will be displayed in the QualityCabinets booth: The front on the sink base cabinet and cook top cabinet can be removed to accommodate a wheelchair. Base cabinets have pull-out trays, drawers and a Lazy Susan to make retrieving contents easier. The base cabinets are shorter for easy reach from a wheelchair. Wall cabinets are lowered closer to the base cabinets for easier reach. Open shelving has been incorporated for easy access and visibility.

“QualityCabinets offers several options specific to universal design,” explained Sarah Reep, director of designer relations & education for QualityCabinets, “But designing for homeowners with special needs is also possible with our standard offerings. It just takes insight and smart design to accommodate any homeowner; which is what the QualityCabinets brand is all about – kitchens for everyday life.”
