Hello, I am wanting to repaint my kitchen. We had painted our cabinet doors a while back but the paint has started peeling, every time I wipe them down a little bit more peels. So I started sanding them. Took one door off and sanded it and discovered that the green paint is staying in the cracks highlighting the what would be wood texture. I think they are laminated. Discovered I kinda like this look, old and worn. I want to paint the top half of the kitchen a lighter cream color including the cabinets and the bottom half a darker green. Is there a way to paint the cabinets a lighter color and still have this texture show through or should I just paint the whole thing. Also want a finish that is cleanable. Thank you for your time,
