Quick Draw Lightweight Spray Guns

The business end of a spray finishing system is the spray gun. Earlier this near, Graco updated two lightweight air-assisted spray guns: the G15 (1,500 psi) and G40 (4,000 psi for higher pressure applications). The guns weigh less and have a lighter trigger pull than any other air-assisted gun in their class, says Graco. That’s important, reducing operator fatigue and simplifying adjustments in what is a manual operation.

Quick Draw Lightweight Spray GunsThe two also share a key  feature: an ability to significantly vary the spray pattern, but without changing tips. Instead you rotate a fan pattern adjustment knob. Both models also feature a new aircap that Graco says provides uniform atomization, improved finish quality, and soft spray capabilities. Both work with Graco’s new ProMix 2KE two-component mixing system and pump.

At the AWFS Fair woodworking show in July, Graco won a Sequoia award for the ProMix 2KE. Though it is an entry-level system, it offers the same on-ratio assurance and advanced reporting as more sophisticated systems, says Graco. The ProMix 2KE (it has its own website: graco.com/promix2ke) accurately mixes 2K materials within 1% of the desired ratio.
It handles solventborne and waterborne epoxies and polyurethanes;  as well as acid catalyzed materials.

It’s also compact, affordable, and easy-to-use, says Graco. “Because this entry-level proportioner mixes on demand, it allows users to save time and reduces material waste when compared to mixing by hand,” says Blake Erickson, product marketing manager at Graco.  “It’s smaller and more affordable, plus it typically pays for itself within months.” An nice option is an automatic gun flush box that uses the exact amount of solvent for cleaning, reducing waste.
