Metrie names new vice-president, transformation

Metrie, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, has appointed Chris Fearn as vice president, transformation. In this role, he will lead the transformation management office (TMO), sit on the Metrie Executive Leadership Team, and report directly to CEO, Kent Bowie.

Plastic lumber manufacturer will invest $50 million in facility

Plastic lumber maker, Tangent Technologies, LLC, is expanding and consolidating its U.S. manufacturing operations in Illinois. As part of the company’s decision to expand in Illinois, it will invest $50 million to relocate its operations – currently in Canada and Aurora, Illinois – to Montgomery, Illinois, as it increases capacity and creates 110 new full-time jobs.

Canadian advisory council calls for 'fundamental shift' in forest management

VICTORIA, B.C. — An independent report from the Provincial Forestry Advisory Council (PFAC) finds that British Columbia’s current forest management system is failing to meet a range needs, including communities, First Nations, businesses and the environment.Titled From Conflict to Care: BC’s Forest Future, the report concludes that small, incremental reforms are not enough to address the scale of challenges facing the sector.
