OSHA updates hazardous communication standard

The Department of Labor released a final rule from its Occupational Safety and Health Administration that will update the current Hazard Communication Standard to "better protect workers" by improving the amount and quality of information on labels and safety data sheets and allowing workers and first responders to react more quickly in an emergency.

MasterBrand acquires Supreme Cabinetry Brands for $520 million

In a $520 million deal, MasterBrand, the nation's largest cabinet company, has acquired Supreme Cabinetry Brands. MasterBrand said the deal is expected to bring annual cost savings of $28 million in procurement and production synergies, enhance its portfolio, and expand its dealer network and diversity of channel distribution.

Online platform for hardwood sales launches

Lumber Marketplace (LM), a platform for buying and selling wholesale hardwood lumber, has launched its online marketplace that the company said was designed to modernize the traditional lumber trade. With an extensive inventory and advanced functionalities, LM is set to be the largest source of hardwood lumber in North America.

Timberlab acquires American Laminators accelerating mass timber construction

PORTLAND, Ore. —Timberlab Holdings Inc., owner of Timberlab Inc., a national provider of mass timber systems, and Diversified Wood Resources, LLC, doing business as American Laminators, an Oregon-based glue-laminated timber (glulam) manufacturer, have entered into an agreement for Timberlab to acquire the assets of American Laminators and will continue operating their two Oregon-based facilities in Drain and Swisshome beginning June 10, 2024.
