At Burls Art, the YouTube channel known for turning non-conventional materials into electric guitars, more than 2,000 colored pencils were used to build his new guitart.
It's been two years since the wood artist crafted a colored pencil guitar. "I figured it was about time to revisit the idea and try doing something new with it," he said in the 9-minute Youtube video. "You'll notice that the mold for this one is shaped kind of funny and that's because I've included the neck in the mold so the body and neck will all be one continuous piece otherwise known as a neck through guitar.
The fretboard is made from a piece of bird's eye maple for the fretboard instead of using colored pencils because he thought that might look a "bit too busy."
After production, it received a coat of epoxy on top of the entire face of the body.
