UNION CITY, Tenn.— Made in America Seating has announced it will continue operations as an independent business following its spinoff and the subsequent sale of former parent company 9to5 Seating to Flokk Group in November.

Based in Union City, Tennessee, Made in America Seating is a vertically-integrated manufacturer of office chairs and seating components. The company was established in 2013 and began production in 2015. The Mir family, who founded and led the business previously, remain as owners. Although independent, a release from the company stated, Made in America Seating will continue supplying components to 9to5 Seating.

“We intend to become a leading supplier of molded foam and plastic components, as well as both aluminum and tubular frame parts, to the North American office furniture industry,” said Darius Mir, CEO. “We also expect to grow our private label chair production for wholesalers and retailers.”

Mir added it will be “business as usual” at Made in America Seating. “We will continue using state-of-the-art technology, utmost manufacturing efficiency, and industry-leading value.”
