BROMONT, Que. – Canadian cabinet manufacturer Armoires Fabritec will receive more than $18 million in loans from the Government of Quebec and the Government of Canada to help finance a $50 million expansion to increase production capacity at its plant in Bromont, Quebec.

The $50 million expansion is projected to create 530 jobs over the next five years. Armoires Fabritec is among the largest kitchen manufacturers in Canada, with 533 employees and a combined plant size of approximately 1 million square feet.

Founded in 1983 by Clovis Bourgeois, the Quebec-based Armoires Fabritec produces more than 250 kitchens per day for sale throughout North America. In addition to the Bromont facility, a second plant in Mont-Joli is optimized for the production of standard cabinet boxes.

The $18 million in government funding includes a $10 million loan under the ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation’s ESSOR program, a $3.3 million loan from Investissement Quebec’s funds, a repayable contribution of $2 million from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and a $3.3 million commercial financing loan from Export Development Canada (EDC).

"Quebec businesses are conquerors, and Armoires Fabritec is a very good example of this," added Dominique Anglade, Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation and Minister responsible for the Digital Strategy. "The company has won some major contracts from the U.S., notably with Home Depot, which will considerably increase its U.S. exports."

Kitchen cabinetry as well as bathroom vanities are manufactured by the company.
